Volume levels, multiple tracks
So, I just did my first recording using CallRec.me. It was an hour and 45 minute conversation for my podcast. The good news is that the call quality was fine and the recording was successfully captured. The bigger is was that the volume of my voice was about 5 times louder than the volume of the person I was calling.
When I downloaded the MP3 there was only a single track in it. At the minimum it would help if the CallRec.me server would normalize the volume level of all callers. However, what would be even better would be a way to download the file with each caller in their own track. At least with an MP3 you could use stereo to place one caller in the left track and the other caller in the right trick. This would allow me to perform signal processing on each track independently.
For this podcast, I had to manually go through the entire file and lower the volume of my part of the conversation and raise the volume of the other caller. Even then, my voice was often clipping and maxing out.
Most of this signal processing can easily by done all the CallRec.me servers. Neither myself or the person I was calling had any difficulty with our live conversation; so the level problems in the file were entirely caused by how the server to mix the two samples.
Please fix this as soon as possible. At the minimum level both callers voices (you have two independent channels, this should be trivial to do). Ideally provide each caller as an independent audio source that can be mixed by the user.
Thanks,
John

Hi John,
Thanks for your input. We are aware of this issue and figuring out the best way to fix it - our idea is to provide two separate files of the recorded conversation: one will be the same as it is now, suitable for listening on the phone, while the other would be high-quality stereo file for custom processing by users.
We are already working on this feature and we hope it will be available soon so please stay tuned with Callrec.me!
Thanks,
CallRec.me team
